Seva Week: Joy of Giving at Davanagere
As part of the seva week with respect to Amritavarsham60, Davanagere had organised many activities in Karnataka district.
In association with Karnataka Haemophilia Society and Life Line Blood Bank, the MAM conducted blood donation camp. 52 pints of blood were collected. Doctors from various parts participated in the free medical camp. The camp benefited nearly 400 patients and medicines were distributed freely. ECG, blood Sugar and Haemoglobin checkup was given freely.
Students from Amrita Vidyalayam, GMIT P U College, Scouts and staff of Amrita Vidyalayam participated in Amala Bharatham Cleaning Campaign. They went on a procession to create awareness among people and then distributed handbills in the old bus stand. The old bus stand was cleaned later on.
Fruits and milk was distributed by Amrita Vidyalayam students and devotees at a few Mentally challenged homes, old age homes and orphanages. Clothes were distributed to the needy. Sarees were given away at Mytree Association, Bathi – an old age home and orphanage.
The day’s activities were concluded with the stage programme in which Hon’ble MLA S. S. Mallikarjun presided over the function. Corporator Dinesh K Shetty and Shivanahalli Ramesh, Kiran Walvalkar, Shankarappa, Dr. Deepak Udapudi and Bri. Anjali were present. The programme concluded with a short meditation and chanting of ‘Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavanthu’ shanthi matra for18 times and a minute’s silence was observed for world peace.
