Seva Week: Joy of Giving at Mangalore
A series of activities were taken up on account of Amritavarsham 60 celebrations in Mangalore.
With the help of Mangalore City Corporation, took the initiative of cleaning the beaches of Mangalore on 1st of September at 10 venues from Someshvar to Mukka. This activity is the 30th program in the district under the Amala Bharata Campaign.
More than 300 pledges were made to donate blood.
Rathayatra moved throughout Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada District till 12.09.2013. A convoy with flags and posters adorned vehicles that followed the Ratha.
Embracing the world::
The Management team and the heads of various graduate and post graduate colleges from in and around Mangalore were invited and an introduction to the all around seva activities of MAM was given.
Old Age Home, Orphanage visit:
On eve of Amma’s 60th birthday, students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Mangalore visited an orphanage Bhagini Samaja at Jeppu, Mangalore. They donated their collections of books, toys and clothes.
Sree Amrita Katha:
The Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti Mangalore & local devotees came together to remember the glory of Amma’s 60th year of advent and to celebrate the festival of love through Amrita Katha by Pujya Shri Maheshchandraji.
The love of the children for the Divine Mother manifested in Special pujas, Laksha Archanas (1000 Archana) and offerings made to Amma for 21 days from September 1st onwards at the Brahmasthana Kshetra.
