Our Villages, Our World: What Can We Offer?

A two-day summit of renowned scientists, social-leaders, academicians, entrepreneurs and administrators titled “Our Villages – Our World: What Can We Offer?” will take place during Amritavarsham 60.

The summit will be inaugurated by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former president of India. The participants will includeDr.Leland H Hartwell, Nobel Laureate; Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, Father of the Green Revolution in India; Dr. Suresh Subramani, Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UCSD.

Ideas generated during the Summit will be implemented into the village-adoption programme which is aimed at uplifting India’s rural village communities. The topics covered will be in the following three broad areas:
1. Rural Development
2. Rural Education
3. Spiritual, Social and Cultural Development

What do we want from the conference, we are seeking – “Innovative Technology and practices, cost effective, rugged, easy to use and maintain, and sustainable”. These technologies should be ready to be put into practice in the village adoption program of MAM.
