Before beginning Her satsang on the
evening of 26 September, Amma asked all Her children
in the stadium to chant the peace mantra "lokah
samastah sukhino bhavantu" ["may the
whole world be happy"] for one full minute, and
to imagine that the vibrations of peace were spreading
from each of their hearts to the whole world. When the
minute finished, She then asked all to take the hands
of those sitting next to them and to chant the mantra
three more times, before concluding the with "Om
shanti shanti shantih" [Om, peace... peace...
peace.] |
Frequently, Amma speaks about the power of group prayer.
In the context of Amritavarsham50, where more than
100,000 people were gathered, She said that although we may
all be like little candles, when we come together to pray
for the peace and welfare of all beings, our light can illumine
the whole world.
