The day of Amma's birthday saw the release of four new books published by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, one of which, From Amma's Heart, was officially released by Shri. Chamanlal Gupta, India's Honourable Minister of State for Defence.

Amma's head disciple, Swami Amritaswarupananda, compiled the book mainly from conversations Amma has had in the West since 1999. For the most part, it follows a question-and-answer style, revealing Amma's inimitable earthy style of satsang—full of the love of a mother and the wisdom of a true spiritual master.

The book finds A mma speaking on a vast range of topics, including the nature of birth and death, worldly relationships, war and peace, and spiritual practices and Vedanta.
