His Grace Cyril Mar Baselios has been the archbishop of Trivandrum since 1995. He is also the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI). Representing 16 of the 23 million Christians in India, the CBCI is responsible for adopting policy and taking action in matters concerning the interests of the Church in India. His Grace was ordained into the priesthood in 1960 and into the Episcopalian Church in 1978. He is author of the book Emerging Trends in Malankara Catholic Theology: Vision and Contributions of Cyril Mar Baselios.
