H.H. Shankaracharya Swami Raghaveshwara Bharati was installed as the 36th head monk of the Ramachandrapura Math in 1999. The math traces its lineage back to H.H. Adi Shankaracharya, who brought to prominence Advaita Vedanta, the Hindu philosophy of non-dualism. Since becoming the head of the math, Swami Raghaveshwara has traveled the length and breadth of India, with the focus of calling devotees into positive action and thought. Swamiji is well versed in the Vedas, Vedanta, logic, poetics, yoga, and Sanskrit. His writings and discourses are aimed at attracting both scholars and laymen to the ways of God. Under Swamiji’s direction, the Ramachandrapura Math runs a large number of social, cultural, educational, environmental and spiritual programs for the uplift and welfare of humanity.
