Mauritius’ Honourable Minister of Public Utilities

At the time of Amritavarsham50, Shri. Alan Ganoo was serving as Mauritius’ Honourable Minister of Public Utilities.

After studying law at Middle Temple and at King’s College in London, Shri. Alan Ganoo served as an advocate and legal advisor to various trade unions. He then became a member of Mauritius’ MMM Party and was elected as a Member of the National Assembly in 1982, 1987, 1991, 1995 and 2000. He was also the Assembly’s Speaker in 1982, the Opposition Whip from 1987 to 1990 and the Deputy Chief Whip in 1990.

Shri. Alan Ganoo became Minister of Justice and Attorney-General from 1991 to 1993. He then served as the Minister of Housing from 1996 to 1997. He was made Minister of Public Utilities in 2000.
