Shri. Bawa Jain, the secretary general of the World Council of Religious Leaders, was the main person responsible for the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders of 2000 and the World Peace Summit of Women Religious & Spiritual Leaders of 2002.
He is a key figure in the international interfaith movement. After working closely on the World Peace Summit with the office of the United Nations Secretary General, he committed his life to finding ways that the worldwide religious and spiritual communities can work together as interfaith allies with the United Nations on specific peace, poverty and environmental initiatives.
