Shri. S. Thirunavukkarasar

Information Technology
At the time of Amritavarsham50, Shri. S. Thirunavukkarasar was India’s Honorable Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology.
He has served in a number of government positions since 1977, when he first became a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (a position he held for six terms, through 1999).
From 1977 to 1980, he served as the Assembly’s Deputy Speaker and from 1977-84 he was the Chairman of the Committee in State Legislatures.
From 1980 through 1988, he was a Cabinet Minister, and from 1989-91, he served as the Legislative Assembly’s Deputy Leader of Opposition. In 1999, he was elected to India’s 13th Lok Sabha and from 1999-2000, he served as a member of the Committee on External Affairs. From 2000-2002, he was a Member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance and in July 2002, he became the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Shipping.
